OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – March 18, 2010 -- Kansas Gas Service and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 304 (IBEW) announced today the approval of a four-year labor agreement. IBEW represents 298 of the company's 976 employees.
The agreement, which takes effect July 1, 2010, includes modifications in pension benefits, the medical plan, vacation policy and wages. It also includes the addition of new job classifications.
"The cooperative efforts of Kansas Gas Service's negotiating team and IBEW's labor union representatives resulted in an agreement that received a favorable vote by an overwhelming majority of members," said Brad Dixon, president, Kansas Gas Service. Employees represented by IBEW are located in Abilene, Atchison, Calista, Concordia, Emporia, Great Bend, Hutchinson, Junction City, Kingman, Kinsley, Leavenworth, Manhattan, Marysville, McPherson, Minneola, Seneca, Salina, Pratt, Pittsburg, Parsons, Overland Park, Topeka, Washington and Wichita.
