March 1, 2006 - OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Natural Gas Company customers will receive yet another decrease in the cost of natural gas consumed during March.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission granted Oklahoma Natural Gas a temporary waiver that allowed the company to deviate from its standard practice of establishing gas prices on a quarterly basis, permitting the company to adjust fuel costs for March.
The per-Dekatherm charge, as reflected in March bills, will be $8.45, down from $9.58 in February – a reduction of more than $1.13 per Dekatherm.
"In recent weeks, natural gas prices have eased and that has allowed us to seek this waiver and pass along these lower prices to our customers," said Phyllis Worley, president of Oklahoma Natural Gas.
"This collaborative effort with the Corporation Commission benefits consumers, and enables us to deliver on our commitment to provide our customers with reliable service and value," Worley said, "just as our company has been able to do for 100 years."
Oklahoma Natural purchases natural gas on behalf of its customers through a competitive bidding process. The company does not profit on the sale of the gas but charges for its delivery service through approved rates.
Various payment options are available through Oklahoma Natural Gas Customer Choice programs. The company's Average Payment Plan spreads costs more evenly over the year. Customers are urged to examine these programs and enroll online at www.ong.com or by calling the company directly at 1-800-664-5463.
